OFFICIAL STATEMENT REGARDING POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE

Official Statement - August 22, 2020

As was not welcomed but expected, the inevitable has occurred. One of our attendees has tested positive for COVID-19 with others awaiting test results. They are all doing quite well and are quarantined in their homes. These individuals attended both services on Sunday, August 16, 2020. They were not symptomatic at the time and not masked. Our response is the same since the start. We love you and desire that you be healthy, and believe your health is your responsibility. We will have services as scheduled Sunday, August 23, 2020 as well as continue with planned calendar events.
We believe faith ought to far outweigh fear during this pandemic and feel the eternal impact far exceeds the temporary, factual dangers this virus presents. We will continue to do our part to clean and sanitize our facilities as best as we can. If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19, we encourage you to remain at home. We understand those who are most vulnerable and susceptible to illnesses choosing to stay at home. You are encouraged to join us by Facebook Live or through our website, hermitagefbc.com/WatchLive, so that we may worship together, and you receive the message designed for our congregation. We continue to ask you to practice common sense measures, things we would normally do in any season of illness including:
  • frequent hand washing
  • avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • using sanitation supplies
  • social distancing when possible
We love you and encourage your prayers for one another during this season. Lord willing, we will see many of you Sunday and, if not, hopefully very soon.

Coronavirus Update: May 26, 2020

Coronavirus Update – May 25, 2020
Hey First Family & Friends, running a bit behind on this C-Virus update.  My laptop decided to do its own thing this morning, and I already was a day behind.  So, I apologize for that.  This statement will be available by text after the video airs.   This is hopefully one of the last videos concerning our regular Monday C-Virus statements as we finally can move forward in this crazy season.  We may have one more update in June, Lord willing.
I am proud to be part of the family of God that has persevered and, in many ways, thrived during one of the largest challenges we have faced.
We had a great RESTART 1.0 this past Sunday as we gathered together to REFLECT.  We gathered, we heard testimonies, we fellowshipped, we worshipped, and we heard from the Lord.  The message was to move forward personally and collectively for the glory of Yahweh and in the grace and EVEN MORE GRACE of our Lord as we heard Sunday night.  God continues to bring that verse to my mind form Deuteronomy 30:1 “ And when ALL these things come upon you, the blessings and the curses, which I have set before you, you will REFLECT on where I, the Lord have driven you.”
As of now, we still are following the plan that we have promoted, and we are anticipating it to remain the same outside of something disrupting that process.
We have labeled our RESTART Sundays 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 as we resume.  Our next theme on Sunday, May 31 will be REFRESH as we once again will gather at 9:45, 10:45 and 6:00 as we did last Sunday.  We also will be celebrating baptisms on Sunday morning that you don’t want to miss.
ALL weekly activities/ministries remain suspended at this time; however, we are anxiously anticipating our church meetings this Wednesday, May 27 that will give us more clarity and information.
Son-Shine kids will meet in the Fellowship Hall to finalize their school year program at the store using a revised point system.  DRIVEN will meet downstairs and will get briefed on activities and scheduling ideas. And, the rest of the body will meet in the Sanctuary for our monthly Business Meeting we missed. These all begin at 7 and doors will open at 6:15 pm.
Our hope is to get some information out this week regarding calendars/activities.  Keep in mind, church should and will look different as we RESTART.  All we can offer is the best platform that takes the Lord’s glory and your good into account.  We are calling our summer months S.O.S. (Summer of Service).  Sundays will usually look like what you are used to, but we are planning some opportunities that will look different weekly.  We will not be doing our normal quarterly schedules or calendars yet.  Right now, we feel comfortable doing a couple weeks at a time considering the fluidity of the situation.
Two major ministry opportunities that are upon us are Vacation Bible School, June 02-04…called “Concrete and Cranes” will be 6:30-8:30 nightly here at the church for children through 5th grades.  Please pre-register your children if possible, on our website at www.hermitagefbc.com.  Also, we could use help, so please contact Stephani or Rebecca Davis ASAP.  We are aware that this is right upon us, but our hope is this will give our Son-Shine Kids a reboot.  The other opportunity is the annual Builder’s Mission Trip June 07 – 12.  This year will be at Eureka Baptist Church in Richland, MO.  There is still time to sign up to go and we still need help with supplies, but we need all this by Sunday, May 31.  We hope everyone can be a part of this somehow.  In fact, we invite anyone and everyone to come on over to the site on Wednesday, June 10 to see the project, eat dinner with us at 5 pm and come to worship at 6:30 pm.  If you are coming for dinner, we would need reservations by this Sunday, May 31.
This is strange season, and all I can promise is that we will do the best we can.  We ask you to do your part in giving us your best.  I sure am encouraged by what I’ve seen thus far.
I want to express my appreciation to you for your faithfulness and service to the Lord and one another
during this season.  We want to continue to be vigilant in this battle.  May we not let our guard down now on the brink of victory.  Keep moving forward!
Have a great week!
 In His Grace,
Pastor Jeremy
