Next Steps
The decision to become a Christian and follow after Jesus is great and important, but it's not all. It is but the beginning of a new life in Christ. No matter if you've recently become a Christian or you've been a Christian for years, we're all called to grow spiritually and follow in obedience to Jesus Christ. We want to help you in the next steps in order for you to become a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Baptism
The Scriptures teach that baptism is the first step of obedience once a person has become a Christian. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. it's a public confession and testimony of what has already happened in your life and your heart.
Prayer
As you are starting your prayer life, know that there is nothing too great and nothing too small to take to the Lord in prayer. Make it a habit to spend time each day praying for others and the situations in your life. Ask Him for strength and help you need to live for Jesus Christ.
Bible Study
Set aside a few minutes each day to spend time in the Word of God. As you read, look for promises to claim and commandments to obey, for examples and sins to avoid. Your growth as a Christian will be directly related to your personal application of the Scriptures.
Where do I start? We suggest you begin with the New Testament and read the Gospel of John or Mark, but any reading of Scripture, followed by application is profitable for you.
Share The Gospel
Every Christian has the opportunity to help bring others to Christ. Each day try to talk to someone about Jesus and use your salvation experience as an example of the power of the Gospel. Remember that you witness by what you say, but also by your actions. Follow the commands of Jesus Christ and be an example of what a Christian is.
